Startup Of The Week: Ava Information Systems

Startup Ava

Ava Information Systems, a Berlin-based risk intelligence and data platform, specializes in public safety, physical security, and risk prediction. Monitoring mass volumes of data from multiple sources, AVA says it can calculate the statistical, present and predictive safety and risk at any other given location. “Think of us as a central nervous system for public safety and physical security,” says Aleksander Stojanovic, Ava’s executive chairman. The company uses information from multiple sources, such as commercial data, open data, sensors and Internet of Things systems plus crowd and social media data to monitor crime, terrorism, natural disasters, health risks, industrial disasters, civil unrest and “ everything that is of potential relevance” to safety, says Stojanovic. Ava’s clients include DHL, the London Metropolitan Police Department and Deutsche Bahn, the German railway. Competitors include U.S.-based DataWalk.
