Startup Of The Week: Helsing

German AI defense startup Helsing is developing remote-piloted systems that are reshaping the future of warfare.

On October 8 it announced it is in the process of acquiring Blue Ocean, an ocean technology company that designs, develops, and operates autonomous underwater vehicles, to accelerate the development and mass production of autonomous platforms for the protection of the underwater battlespace. The news follows the unveiling in September of Helsing’s “CA-1 Europa” a new autonomous combat drone that can swarm into battle with fellow robots or team up with crewed fighters, and the launch  earlier in the year of its autonomous underwater glider, the SG-1 Fathom.
