Who:  Evangelos Avramakis is head of digital ecosystems R&D at the Swiss Re Institute, the research arm of Swiss Re, one of the world’s largest reinsurers. His focus is on forward-looking market developments, digital ecosystems, omnichannel management and innovative business models.

Topic: Why the financial services sector has been slow to adopt new business models and the price it might pay for not changing fast enough.

Quote: “The new models risk to not only disaggregate but also commoditize the existing value chain. So, insurance providers will need to rethink and redefine their current role and decide where they should play and how they should play.”
